Religious Education for Children (CCD)

The mission of St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church is to help form students’ understanding and will to the teachings of Christ and His Catholic Church so that they may come to know, love and serve Christ. We are careful to follow closely what the Catholic Church teaches. We examine each of the four parts of the Catechism of the Catholic Church: Faith, Liturgy and Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer. We also include the study of Scripture and the relationship between the written Word and Sacred Oral Tradition.

 “The catechesis of children, young people, and adults aims at teaching them to meditate on The Word of God in personal prayer, practicing it in liturgical prayer, and internalizing it at all times in order to bear fruit in a new life.” –Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2688)

What time is your Children’s Faith Formation Program (CCD Class)?

Classes begin at 10:45am- conveniently scheduled after the parish’s 9:30 am Sunday Mass. Classes begin promptly at 10:45 and the children are available for pick-up at 11:45am.

Where are the Children’s Faith Formation Classes held?

The classes are held at St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Parish Center located at 515 4th St. South Saint Petersburg, FL 33701

When is Children’s Faith Formation Registration?

Registration is held –in the parish center- after the 9:30 am mass on August 22nd.

My child was in CCD at another parish. Can they join your program?

Yes-if the child(ren) are joining mid-year, our director of Children’s Religious Education will consult with the parents to the best place for the child.

Are there costs for the program?

Yes, in order to defray the cost of materials, the parish has established the following costs for Children’s Faith Formation: $30/for the first child in a family and $15 for each child after with a $60 maximum fee.
